A Texan through and through, Roy was born in Pharr, Texas, and received undergraduate degrees in both marketing and computer science, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Roy worked in computer science for 15 years before leaving the field to work in finance. Roy started an investment office with Edward Jones, after which he was recruited away by Merrill Lynch. In 2006, Roy became a Certified Financial Planner. He has since joined Sunbelt Securities as an independent financial advisor. Roy’s hobbies include tennis, boating, and golf.

Roy joined Front Steps when a neighbor recruited him to serve. “This service touches my heart because I realize that many homeless people are veterans. American’s owe their freedom to veterans so I feel very good about giving back to my community through Front Steps.”

Roy serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Finance Committee.
