Steven, a 27 year old former client of the ARCH, spent four years of his life without a home. He suffers from a social anxiety disorder. Before becoming an ARCH client, he first began visiting Trinity Center and with their recommendation, began working with case managers from Front Steps, Capital Idea, and Caritas.

With the support of his case managers, he applied for and got a job working 3-4 days a week, plus working overnight on the weekends. On top of this schedule, he goes to school full time and attends his case management appointments, not to mention gets all his homework done. Many nights he walks home from work, arriving at the ARCH at 1:30 am just to begin his day again at 5:30 am. He does all this without complaining and is eager to move into housing in the next couple of months. It will be the first time that he will have his own home, one that he has been saving up for, and he looks forward to a future in the electronics industry. We wish Steven the best of luck in his new place and are very happy to see such a wonderful collaboration of social services and individual strength and determination.
