Support and Training Employment Program (STEP)
STEP was created to incorporate the support of an Americorps VISTA member to assist homeless and at-risk individuals to find employment at a livable wage. The program includes a one-day workshop conducted by a Work Source staff person, focusing on job skills development, resume writing, workplace ethics and interviewing skills. Participants are also assisted in following through with on-line job search. STEP provides the support and self-confidence for moving this group toward self-sufficiency.
STEP is open to any person who is homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Workshops are held on the Thursday of the last full week of the month, from 8:45 to 3:00. Lunch is provided. Referrals are not necessary.
