Case Management
Front Steps offers a variety of services to help you move from homelessness to housing. These services include Case Management and a drug and alcohol recovery program called Streets of Hope.
What is Case Management?
The purpose of the Case Management program is to provide you with support and resources to help you obtain/maintain stable income, obtain housing, or work toward other goals that will help you to move into a home.
What is a Case Manager?
A Case Manager will serve as a support person to you. They will help you to identify the resources that you already have access to, connect you to other community resources, advocate for you, and offer a safe place where you can problem solve and talk about your concerns and needs.
How does Case Management work?
Clients usually work with a Case Manager between thirty days and six months while a more stable living situation is developed.
During this time, the focus will be on: • Securing a permanent, reliable, and sufficient source of income • Identifying secure and affordable housing • Addressing any barriers to achieving these goals
How do I join the Case Management program?
This first step in beginning Case Management is to attend a Case Management Orientation Session and three informational classes. These sessions are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month beginning at 9:15am on the 2nd floor of the ARCH. *However, as of 8/24/11, Orientation & Classes are canceled until further notice. We will be sure to post information when these resume. Feel free to ask a staff member at the Front Desk to verify if Orientation will be held that week. During the Orientation, they will explain the other classes that must be completed before your first meeting with a Case Manager. These classes are also outlined below.
Important Information about Case Management
Case Managers’ schedules are available at the ARCH Front Desk. Ask Front Desk staff to check for initial appointment openings on Case Managers’ schedules. Check the Front Desk Saturdays at 8am for available intake appointment slots during each upcoming week.
If you have fulfilled the Case Management eligibility requirements within the last 6 months and did not meet with a Case Manager since that time, you may sign up at the front desk to meet with a Case Manager without having to re-attend orientation.
If you have met with a Case Manager within the last 6 months, you may not re-attend orientation. Those who have exited Case Management within the last 6 months or who have participated in the program two or more times will need to complete the Application to Return to Case Management form (found at the Front Desk).
