ARCH Services - Co-Located Partners

In order to make the ARCH the best possible place for homeless individuals to find help, we share the building with other social service agencies. Click on the links below, or simply scroll down to find out how to utilize services from other organizations within the ARCH.

 

Austin Travis County Integral Care (formerly MHMR)

Provides outreach and case management to homeless individuals who have a mental illness, helping them connect to services they need.

Program: Access to Community Care and Effective Services and Support (ACCESS). The ACCESS program reaches out to homeless individuals with mental health issues and offers assistance.

If you are in need of assistance from Integral Care, please sign up at the Front Desk Mondays and Wednesdays between 8:00 am and 10:30 am. http://www.integralcare.org/

The Austin Advocate Newspaper

The Austin Advocate is a monthly street newspaper providing a place for the homeless population to voice concerns regarding homeless issues, while also providing an opportunity to earn income by receiving donations for the paper.

Another goal of the paper is to provide an outlet for you to express yourself. For instance, the paper includes poetry, a host of jokes, and personal stories of homelessness.

Goodwill Industries of Central Texas:

Offers resources to help individuals with barriers to employment.  These barriers include physical and mental disabilities, as well as lack of education and training, chronic homelessness and unemployment, as well as criminal backgrounds.

Program: Job Source Program provides job-related services to homeless individuals with barriers to employment. Your case manager can sign you up for an intake appointment at the Front Desk.

Job application and interview training is offered the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the ARCH. Refer to the ARCH service calendar for time and room number.

Family Eldercare

Family Eldercare focuses on programs that prevent premature institutionalization, stabilize formerly homeless clients, or prevent homelessness.

If you are in need of assistance with transitional shelter and are over the age of 62 or over the age of 55 and on SSDI, please contact Mitra Ekhtiar at 512-628-1697.

Family Eldercare also provides Representative Payee services to individuals needing assistance with managing their Social Security Funds. Please contact Kendra Peters at 512-483-3553.

Staff on-site at the ARCH every Wednesday from 9:00 am to Noon to meet with individuals needing representative payee services. Priority given to those who are homeless.  http://www.familyeldercare.org/

House the Homeless

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid provides free legal services to needy residents of south and west Texas for civil, non-criminal issues.

If you are in need of legal services, please sign up at the ARCH Front Desk on Thursdays at 1:00 pm. Richard Troxell takes appointments Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. http://www.trla.org/

Veterans Administration (VA)

The VA aims to provide United States veterans with the highest quality service.

Program: Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program provides outreach and case management services to homeless veterans. They also assist with referrals for medical care, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, and housing.

VA classes are held on Mondays starting at 9:00 am. They are open to any veteran experiencing homelessness. http://www.centraltexas.va.gov/services/Social_Work/HCHV.asp

Homeless Health Clinic

Homeless Health Clinic provides urgent and ongoing medical care, dental care, substance abuse screening, counseling, and case management.

The clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and is closed on Wednesday afternoons.

If you are in need of a MAP card, please line up at the Salvation Army (8th and Neches) at 8:00am and 1:00pm Monday through Wednesday and at 1:00pm on Thursdays. You can also call 512-978-8130 for more information.
