Front Steps always needs more compassionate and capable volunteers willing to serve in a number of areas. Some volunteer positions require training and a minimal time commitment.

We work with volunteers' unique schedules and interests to identify the areas of commitment best suited for them, including the opportunities listed below.
- Information and Referral Desk: Help Front Steps staff monitor the front desk, connect clients to services, coordinate mail and messages, answer the phones, maintain the laundry list and dispense hygiene products.
- Clothing Closet: The ARCH opens the clothing closet every Monday at 10:00 am unitl 12:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to help the clients sign up for the clothing closet, as well as sort, size, and dispense clothing.
- Kitchen: assisting in the preparation and serving of meals at ARCH
- Computer Lab: answering basic computer questions and teaching fundamentals
- Cold Weather Shelter: working with and at volunteering sheltering churches
- Client Services: assisting in the delivery of essential client services
- Special Events, Fund Raising, and Community Education: helping create, fund and host important activities
- AmeriCorps: Twenty-five AmeriCorp members work at a variety of service organizations to provide case management assistance, mentoring, life skills instruction and community education for individuals, families and youth.
We are also happy to work with volunteers to design new jobs that match their interests.
